We had a meeting with the Kobba Town Community and it was awesome. The people
want a well but they are very willing to contribute and make it a reality. They are a
unified community with leadership and an understanding of how to make this well work
to their benefit. This is President Ali Kargbo, branch president of the Kossoh town
Branch, community. We really would like to do this project. Don told them they
should come up with 10% of the cost and we would pay the rest. My heart sank. 10%
is 4,000,000 Leones. How in the world will this community come up with that kind of
money? They said they would do it.
December 20, 2016 - President Kargbo brought us the minutes of the community
meeting that was held on December 12th. The community decided to willingly chip in
30,000 Leones per family towards the well. They are in the process of collecting the
money and will let us know when they have their 10%. AMAZING!
